Beethoven and Beyond: Project closes with a conference panel in Cambridge

The Beethoven in the House project closed with a panel discussion at the congress of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML) in Cambridge. We presented some of our musicological and technical research, and looked ahead to the future, both in our presentations and the discussions that followed.

Christine Siegert opened with a discussion of Beethoven’s relationship with to the arrangements of his works, followed by presentations on The Harmonicon journal (David Lewis), our annotation tooling and the underlying technology (Johannes Kepper, remotely), and reflections on digital methodologies and their role in musicological investigation (Kevin Page).
